English Program Popular in Taiwan
TAIWAN (November 9, 2004) - Next year's summer English instructional program
was one focus of attention during a recent visit to Taiwan by David and
Judy Dolan, regional coordinators for Chinese ministries and Taiwan
country coordinators for the Department of World Mission of the
Evangelical Covenant Church.
"The Taiwan Covenant leadership was very grateful for the 17
short-termers who traveled to Taiwan this past July," the Dolans note in
an email ministry update. "They are very enthusiastic about next year
and want to expand the program. The dates for next year are July 7 –
August 7. Information will be coming out shortly. We hope that many
more people will take the opportunity to serve God in Taiwan by teaching
English in Taiwanese Covenant churches."
Teaching opportunities in areas of computers and English in China also
are of interest, the Dolans report following an exploratory visit to one
Chinese English/computer Training Center. "We thank the Lord for
dedicated teachers at the English/Computer Training Center who have
obviously made wonderful relationships with their students and school
officials. As always we are so grateful for your prayers and interest."
