Anchor Covenant (WI) to Celebrate First Year

LAKE GENEVA, WI (January 14, 2005) - What started out as a birthday party for members of Anchor Covenant Church will turn into a celebration of the church's first anniversary as well.

"We were going to celebrate the birthday of everyone in the church," says Pastor Ryan Eikenbary-Barber. Someone then suggested using the occasion to also mark the congregation's first year. The celebration is scheduled for January 22 at the Burlington Skate Barn.

Members of the church had been meeting in the boathouse at the Covenant Harbor Bible Camp for several summers. They decided in 2003 that they should meet year-round as a church. About 75 people now attend services, which are held at the local YMCA.
