See the Cubs, Help Students & Kids
CHICAGO, IL (March 29, 2005) - North Park University alumni have an
opportunity to see the famed Chicago Cubs in action on Saturday, April
9, and help kids in the process – and do so from one of the more
interesting vantage points surrounding Wrigley Field.
Fifty seats have been reserved for the 1:20 p.m. game at Murphy's
Bleachers – one of the rooftop bleacher venues located across from the
ball field – at the corner of Waveland and Sheffield. Each interested
alumnus is being asked to purchase three tickets – one for their own
use, one for a North Park University student, and one for a child from
the community who is involved in the university's outreach ministries.
The youngsters will be selected by the staff at North Park's Center for
Youth Ministry Studies.
"Given this structure, there is a limited number of 16 groups
available," says Ann-Marie Olson, director of alumni and parent
programs at the university. Any unsold seats remaining on Friday (April
1) will be made available to others on a first-come basis. The total
cost for each group – including food and beverages – is $210.
Participants will have the option of gathering at Old Main on the North
Park campus at 11:45 a.m. on game day and walking to the El (elevated
train) station for the ride to Wrigley Park.
To reserve tickets, call Olson at 773-244-5796 or email her at
aolson@northpark.edu.
