Applicants Sought for Director of Nursing
CHICAGO, IL (April 4, 2005) - Applications are being accepted for a position
of director of the School of Nursing at North Park University.
The school, founded in 1965, offers baccalaureate, master's and
post-master's programs on campus and at off-campus sites. The School of
Nursing baccalaureate nursing program is fully accredited by the
Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education until 2009; the Graduate
nursing program was just reviewed for continuing accreditation in
October 2004 and is awaiting official results.
The director is the chief academic and administrative officer of the
School of Nursing and reports directly to the academic dean. This
position has a strong role in articulating the mission and vision of the
university and School of Nursing through opportunities for new program
development, outreach, and building collaborative partnerships.
Desired qualifications include an earned doctorate in nursing or a
related field, with a master's degree in nursing required; a current
Registered Nurse (RN) license; demonstrated leadership experience in
curricular and faculty development; teaching experience at the
baccalaureate and graduate levels; scholarly productivity and experience
in grant writing; and progressive administrative experience, preferably
in a metropolitan area.
