Asian-American Ministry Conference in July
CONCORD, CA (April 5, 2005) - The Evangelical Covenant Church will host a
three-day conference on Asian-American ministry in cooperation with the
American Baptist Seminary of Berkeley, California.
The Summer Institute for Asian American Ministry and Theology, to be
held July 28-30 at the Berkeley seminary, will provide theological
foundations and hands-on skills training for pastors, parachurch staff,
lay leaders and seminarians.
Plenary speakers will be Covenanters Soong Chan Rah, pastor of the
Cambridge Community Fellowship Covenant Church in Cambridge,
Massachusetts, and Peter Cha, professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity
School. Workshops will include sessions on the history of Asian-American
Christianity, recent directions in Asian-American biblical
interpretation, spiritual direction, inter-generational ministries and
worship.
