Applicants Sought for ECC Web Manager
CHICAGO, IL (April 8, 2005) - Applications are being accepted for the
position of Internet Services Manager as part of the Department of
Communication of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a
high-quality, relevant website for the denomination as well as provide
leadership in developing a network of Covenant churches, conferences,
ministries and institutions to address modern communications needs and
challenges.
This position reports to the executive minister of Communication.
Responsibilities include oversight for database design and management,
developing website administration tools, developing and maintaining the
user interface and website architecture, and managing the website
backup process, website upgrades and updates. This individual will be
informed concerning industry trends and applicable technologies and
will integrate appropriate new technologies into the Covenant website.
Responsibilities also include recruiting and maintaining user and
technology advisory groups, developing an ongoing process for
evaluating the success of the Covenant website, developing and
implementing appropriate site administration training, overseeing
development of appropriate seminars and workshops as directed by the
executive minister and assisting in development of appropriate website
policies.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal,
organizational, and communication skills and the ability to handle a
variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional and prompt
manner. The individual must have the ability to work with limited
direction, take initiative, and have the ability to plan and carry out
responsibilities with limited supervision, organizing personal
schedules and duties in order to complete responsibilities. The
position demands accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Good judgment is necessary. The individual must be courteous and relate
well to internal and external customers. The person must be tactful and
possess highly developed communication skills (written and verbal,
English) and be able to communicate effectively with staff, and others
with whom this position has contact.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree from four-year college or
university and two years of related experience and/or training, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in
HTML, CSS, Macromedia Studio MX, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, and
Microsoft Office is expected. Familiarity with Plone or other CMS
software is desired.
