Monday Deadline for Early Feast Registrations

CHICAGO, IL (May 5, 2005) - Attendees to the Feast in Keystone, Colorado, next month will experience expressions of the gospel in new ways through the integration of cross-cultural art as well as hearing preaching in Spanish, says Art Greco, chair of the Feast Steering Committee.

The Feast is a festival of prayer for the whole family and will be celebrated June 18-21, preceding the Annual Meeting. Early registration ends Monday.

Arnoldo Pinto The five speakers have been teamed with artists in different mediums to further enhance the message. "The artist is going to be part of a team with the preacher," Greco says. "The communicator is going to help people understand and hear the truth. The artist is going to help people feel the truth."

Artistic expressions will include hip-hop, new music and slam poetry, sometimes referred to as performance poetry. Artists include David Greco, Alissa Walter, Henry Greenidge and Emily Kaufman. The speakers and artists have been working as a team as they prepare for the Feast, Greco says.

Speakers for the event are:

  • Bob Berquist, Bethany Covenant Church in Bedford, New Hampshire
  • Rose Cornelious, Commissioned Disciples Covenant Church in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Adam Edgerly, Newsong Covenant Church in Los Angeles, California
  • Arnoldo Pinto, Vida Abundante Covenant Church in Roseville, California
  • John Wenrich, First Covenant Church in Portland, Oregon

Pinto (see accompanying photo) will preach in Spanish and his message will be translated into English. "It was just a creative fun idea," Greco says, adding that the majority of English-speaking participants will have the opportunity to experience what minority groups often experience. "We're hoping that it also would enhance people's sensitivities and increase their connections with people."

Seminar topics will include confronting boredom with prayer, addressing hindrances to prayer, the work of the Holy Spirit in prayer, the place of prayer in evangelism, and brokenness, the essential posture of prayer. Covenant ministers from around North America will lead the workshops.

Those who register early can save $10 per person. The early registration fee is $135 for adults and junior high/senior high students, $119 for those in grades 1-6, and $80 for nursery age children. After Monday, registration is $145, $129 and $90 respectively. The Feast is made even more affordable for larger families, as the cost drops dramatically with the fourth family member, making it much easier for entire families to come.

Registration fees include five meals, access to all Feast programs and activities, as well as a pass valued at more than $100 to use for bike, skate, or boat rentals and many other activities on the Keystone property. Lodging expense is additional.
