Memorial Service Saturday for Ruth Lindgren
Spring Valley, CA (May 9, 2005) - A memorial service will be conducted at 3
p.m. Saturday at Mt. Miguel Covenant Village for former Evangelical
Covenant Church missionary Ruth Lindgren, who died Friday.
Ruth and her husband, Emory, served Covenant churches in a number of
Alaska villages during the 1040s and 1950s. They also served as
missionaries in Medellín, Colombia. Ruth was the director of the Bible
correspondence course and taught a women's English Bible class. She also
assisted in the work of the Villa Hermosa Covenant Church as well as The
Bridge, a downtown contact center, bookstore and counseling office.
Following retirement, the couple lived for 10 years at Mission Springs
Conference Center in Scotts Valley, California, and later moved to Mount
Miguel Covenant Village in Spring Valley. Ruth was hospitalized at
Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California, following a stroke and later
was transferred to Grossmont's hospice unit.
Ruth and Emory have been members of Community Covenant Church of El
Cajon. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children.
