South Dakota Church to Receive Award
BRANDON, SD (May 10, 2005) - Living Springs Covenant Church has been awarded a
Purpose Driven Church Health Award by the Purpose Driven Church (PDC)
organization founded by Rick Warren.
Pastor Mike Brown will receive the award next week at Warren's
Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Warren authored the books
The Purpose-Driven Church and The Purpose-Driven Life.
Brown said implementing insights from the program was a critical
component to the growth of the church. "It helped us to focus on the
impact we can have on our community and to look beyond ourselves."
Started by four couples in 1999, Living Springs has an average worship
attendance of 350 people. Brandon is located near Sioux Falls, which is
experiencing population growth as well as cultural development. The
church is planning on moving into a new building at the end of the month.
