Newsletters Reflect Active Time for Churches
CHICAGO, IL (July 26, 2005) - Northwest Covenant Church in Mt. Prospect,
Illinois, began its 50th anniversary celebration recently with 300
people attending a worship service led by founding pastor David Noreen,
who reminisced about the past and issued a challenge for the future.
Jane Applequist, the director of music for 25 years, was surprised with
a specially commissioned anthem in her honor. The anthem was written by
Wayland Rogers and sung by the choir. Later, a 50th memorial bench was
dedicated as part of an anniversary picnic. The church is holding events
throughout the year.
