Duttons' Son Killed in Motorcycle Accident
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 5, 2005) – The son of Peter and Ruth Dutton died in a
tragic motorcycle accident Thursday evening, Covenant News Service (CNS)
has learned.
Graeme Dutton, 23, was
killed around 7:30 p.m., according to a report received early this
morning. The Duttons are involved in economic development projects in
Laos on behalf of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Graeme attended North
Park University for one year.
Upon receiving the news, the Duttons left their home in Laos in the
middle of the night, driving an estimated six hours or more over
dangerous roads en route to an airport to continue their travel to the
United States, CNS was told. As of this report, they are waiting for the
Laos-Thailand border to open.
"Our entire mission community is saddened by this tragic loss," said
Byron Amundsen, a longtime friend of the Duttons and a co-worker in the
World Mission department. "Our hearts go out to Peter and Ruth and the
rest of the family. They are in our prayers."
No further details were immediately available. More information will be
