Advent Resources for Addressing Poverty Available Online
CHICAGO, IL (November 7, 2005) - Bread for the World, in cooperation with
Covenant World Relief and other organizations, has developed free online
resources that focus on overcoming extreme poverty and hunger during the
season of Advent.
The resources include preaching helps, prayers, litanies, Christian
formation activities for adults, youth and children, and ideas for
advocacy on behalf of poor people. All of the material can be downloaded
from Bread for the World's Web site at www.bread.org/advent.
"We have created tools that can be used broadly and flexibly," said
Kathleen O'Toole, coordinator of the project for Bread for the World.
"All the items are available in formats that people can tailor to their
own needs. We encourage people to use these resources in whatever ways
are appropriate in their own particular ministries."
The resources feature the ONE Campaign as well as the Micah Challenge, a
worldwide coalition of evangelicals seeking to end hunger and poverty.
