Applications Sought for Assistant Position
CHICAGO, IL (December 21, 2005) - Applications are being accepted for a
position as assistant to the church planting group of the Evangelical
Covenant Church. The position will be available in early January.
This position provides administrative support and event management for
the three-member group that includes the director of church planting,
the associate director for church planting and congregational
development, and the projects manager for the Churches Planting Churches
initiative.
Responsibilities include managing various administrative functions,
monthly report tracking, church membership documentation, managing all
aspects of Church Planting Assessment Centers and Training Centers
events, and providing general support to the total departmental team, in
addition to other duties.
Qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent from a
four-year college (preferred), two years of related experience, or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. The individual must
have a deep commitment to Christ, the mission of the Evangelical
Covenant Church, and the purposes of the Department of Church Growth and
Evangelism.
Other qualifications include excellent interpersonal, organizational,
and communication skills, the ability to handle a variety of tasks and
responsibilities in a professional and prompt manner, and the ability to
work with limited direction. The individual must be able to generate
creative solutions, translate concepts, and demonstrate attention to
detail. The position demands accuracy and the ability to maintain
confidentiality. The individual must be courteous and relate well to
internal and external customers and must be tactful and possess highly
developed communication skills (written and verbal, English). The
individual must be able to travel 20-28 days per year (three-four days
at a time).
