Help for Sudanese Victims Just a 'Click' Away

CHICAGO, IL (May 23, 2006) - Get clicking!

That's the message CHIC 2006 organizers have for anyone wanting to help meet the dire educational, food and medical needs of the people in Bentiu, Sudan. Interested individuals can generate a donation of 25 cents a day when they go to the event website and "Click for CHIC." An anonymous donor has agreed to fund each click. To visit the website and trigger a donation, please see Click for CHIC.

CHIC is working with Covenant World Relief to meet needs in Bentiu, a small village in central Sudan. The CHIC-generated donations will help pay for a new school, student supplies, teacher salaries, a food program, and a clinic to address the medical needs of the community.

Over the years, CHIC participants have donated several hundred thousand dollars through special offerings received at the events. In addition to bringing money for the offering, CHIC attendees also can join the Feed My Starving Children excursion, where they will help pack food to be delivered around the world.

Covenant World Relief is the international humanitarian aid arm of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Its mission is to offer relief, rehabilitation, and development in Christ's name to the "poorest of the poor."
