Doreen Olson Re-elected to Lead Formation
GRAND RAPIDS, MI (June 16, 2006) - Doreen Olson was re-elected today to a third term as executive minister of the Department of Christian Formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
Jane Matheson, vice chair of the Christian Formation Committee, introduced Olson to the 121st Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church, saying, “I have witnessed the gentle, competent, and Christ-like way in which Doreen carries out her duties as executive minister.”
Matheson added that Olson is a passionate follower of Christ, “and this passion permeates everything she does to assist our people in becoming spiritually mature disciples of Christ.
“Doreen brings to our denomination a clear vision of the call of Christ to be transformed by the Holy Spirit that leads us then on a journey of being formed in Christ’s likeness and his commandments to love God with our heart, soul, strength and mind and to love others as ourselves, “Matheson said.”
