CHIC Food Project Featured on Knoxville TVKNOXVILLE, TN (July 20, 2006) - On Tuesday night, the local Knoxville CBS-TV affiliate station WVLT broadcast a two-minute feature highlighting the work of students at CHIC 2006 as they packed food for Bentiu, Sudan, and other parts of the world. The reporter spent several hours on the University of Tennessee campus talking with students, who spoke of the importance of their work, with one rating the taste of the food. Students passed on their usual box lunches Tuesday and sampled the special Sudanese fare instead. Students have been packing food in partnership with the Christian organization Feed My Starving Children. It is expected that more than half a million meals will have been packed by the conclusion of CHIC activities on Friday. A transcript of the special report can be found at CBS-TV Special Report.
