Fire Creates Problems for Messiah Covenant

DETROIT, MI (October 30, 2006) - A stubborn fire in an adjacent building has wreaked havoc for Messiah Covenant Church, filling the church with smoke and representing an ongoing threat to the church structure itself, given the close proximity of the two buildings.

TV images of fire

In this view of one of the classrooms, taken during a June fire in another nearby building, one can see the somewhat obscured image of the flames showing through the plastic liner erected to try and keep smoke out of the church building.  Too close for comfort
The battle continuesIn this view of the earlier June fire, firefighters struggle to contain and extinguish the flames.
