Rebuilding - A Slow, Patient Process

PHOENIX, LA (November 27, 2006) - The small church in Phoenix, Zion Travelers Baptist Church, received a makeover in the wake of the damage from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Church repairsA volunteer from Hillcrest Covenant Church in Prairie Village, Kansas, puts the finishing touches on a doorway to the small Zion Travelers Baptist Church in Phoenix.
Once the reconstruction work was completed, it didn't take long for worshipers to stream into the sanctuary to praise God for the work under way to rebuild the community.

WorshipThe beauty of the interior reflects a lot of love from volunteers who have donated thousands of hours repairing and rebuilding not only the church, but homes as well.
Congregants are no doubt encouraged in their worship by the beautifully renovated interior of the church, thanks to donated funds and labor in recent months.
