Pastor Part of Historic Presentation at Carnegie

NEW YORK, NY (December 21, 2006) – Adam Rohler, co-pastor of Bethesda Covenant Church, was part of the historic 200-member choral group, the Ontario Society of New York, which performed at Carnegie Hall Monday evening.

The choral group has regularly performed at Carnegie since the hall's opening in 1891 and performed Handel’s Messiah in the Isaac Stern Auditorium to a sold-out crowd of nearly 3,000 people.

“This was a dream come true for me as a musician, as it would for any classical musician,” says Rohler, who has been with the Ontario Society just five months since auditioning and being accepted. The Society’s presentation of the Messiah is an annual tradition spanning more than 100 years.

Two additional concerts are scheduled at Carnegie in the spring. The group will perform Honnegger’s King David and Stravinsky’s Mass on March 13. The second performance, on May 9, will feature Beethoven’s work – his Mass in C and Choral Fantasy.

A tenor, Rohler was a vocal performance major at Seattle Pacific University. To read a review of Monday’s evening’s performance, please see the New York Times.
