Service Held for Retired Pastor Walter A. Steen
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (January 16, 2007) – Word has been received of the death of retired Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Walter A. Steen who served as a Covenant pastor for more than 40 years.
Steen, 93, died November 2, 2006 at Port St. Lucie. A memorial service was conducted November 8, 2006, in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
Born on February 28, 1913, in Castleton, North Dakota, he graduated from Trinity Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Special times were shared traveling out West and vacationing at his cabin in Woodstock, Connecticut.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ida, and is survived by sons, James and Mark; a daughter-in-law, Marta; four grandchildren, Jason (Elke), Alissa, Jamie, and Jessica; and one great-granddaughter, Mary.
