Using Art as Part of Worship? Let Us Know

CHICAGO, IL (March 21, 2007) – A Covenant News Service story on the Lenten artwork at First Covenant Church in Portland, Oregon, has inspired people from across the denomination to tell us of the projects in their own congregations.

In response, we are planning a story on the ways Evangelical Covenant churches of all sizes are using paintings, tapestries and similar media to enhance worship during Lent. The story will include an “online gallery” that we hope will inspire others to experience the gospel more deeply and promote even more creativity as part of our shared ministry.

If you would like your church’s artwork posted online as part of the story, please email one or two pictures along with a paragraph description of how the art is being used. Send items to Covenant Newsdesk. Submissions should include contact information and be emailed no later than 5 p.m. (PDT) Tuesday, April 3.
