Covenanter’s PBS Series to Focus on Parents, KidsNEW BRIGHTON, MN (April 5, 2007) – A new PBS series featuring Covenanter and family life expert Donna Erickson will launch around the country this weekend. Donna’s Day Starring Donna Erickson is designed to help parents and children “rediscover the simple joys of spending time together.” Erickson attends Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton, Minnesota, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of North Park University. She and her husband, Dean, graduated from the school in 1971.  Donna's Day launches in the Twin Cities at different times on several channels beginning at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Check the Donna’s Day website and click on the red “Contact your PBS station” box for local listings. Covenant Retirement Communities is one of the show’s sponsors.The Associated Press designated the program as one of the "Top Ten Television Shows" in the United States when it first aired in the late 1990s. It is now returning with new episodes, each offering a theme designed to help adults feel more caring, confident, and creative when connecting with children. In addition, four seasonal specials will highlight practical suggestions for celebrating holidays together – Halloween, Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa, Valentine's Day, and Easter. Erickson is an educator with a Master's Degree in Second Languages and Cultures Education. She speaks several languages and has lived and traveled in more than 40 countries. A weekly syndicated columnist for King Features Syndicate and a contributing editor for Parents magazine, she is also the award-winning author of two bestselling books - Prime Time Together… with Kids, and Fabulous Funstuff for Families.
