World Mission Stories Dominate Top-Ten ListCHICAGO, IL (May 7, 2007) – Four world mission-related stories were among the 10 most-read articles in the Evangelical Covenant Church’s online news report during April.Attracting the largest number of readers was the first-person account of Curt Peterson, executive minister of the Department of World Mission, describing the harrowing ordeal when he and retired Covenant medical missionary Roger Thorpe were caught in the midst of military violence in the Congo capital of Kinshasa. Look for the July issue of The Covenant Companion, which takes a detailed look at the ordeal, as well as a new online package of information to be posted in July – both based on an exclusive two-hour interview with Peterson and Thorpe shortly after their return home. Readers also focused their attention on a report about the safety of missionaries in Mexico following an earthquake.
