South Lyon (MI) Breaks Ground for New Facility

SOUTH LYON, MI (July 19, 2007) – Crossroads Community Covenant Church broke ground for its new building on July 12.

The congregation began 16 years ago with four families and has grown to an average of 200 in attendance. It was accepted into the Evangelical Covenant Church during the 2006 Annual meeting.

The church currently meets in a local middle school facility. Its new building will be situated on five acres of property purchased in 2005. The initial building will be relatively small, with a narthex, a temporary sanctuary and a children’s area.

Construction is expected to be completed this year or early in 2008. Plans for the future include adding a permanent sanctuary and a youth room.

The location will give the church more visibility because it is located on a main road. Pastor Joe Muzzi and his family currently live in a farmhouse on the property.

The $1.85 million project is being funded in part by a loan from National Covenant Properties. The pastor says the congregation has been looking forward to this day for years, setting aside donations and money from fundraisers.
