Wisconsin Church Celebrates 125 Years

CLEAR LAKE, WI (August 23, 2007) – United Covenant Church will celebrate its 125th anniversary September 15-16.

The weekend will begin with a social time at 5 p.m. on Saturday followed by a banquet at 6 p.m. and a time of sharing at 7 p.m.

A praise and worship service will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Sunday. Jim Fretheim, superintendent of the Northwest Conference, will preach at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. A potluck will follow at noon, and a special anniversary service will be held at 1:30 p.m.

David Kersten, executive minister of the Department of the Ordered Ministry, will attend festivities throughout the weekend.

Gary Tonn, who is the longest serving pastor at the church, having served for nineteen years, also will help lead the celebration.
