Wallace (MI) Church Celebrates 125 Years of Ministry
WALLACE, MI (November 2, 2007) – More than 150 people attended the 125th anniversary celebration for Bethel Mission Covenant Church.
Swedish immigrants started the church in 1882 and chartered the Swedish Church of God, in Wallace, Michigan. The name changed shortly after the turn of the century, and has been known as the Bethel Mission Covenant Church since that time.
Covenant pastor Ronald Newlin, who grew up in the church and is a grandson of one of the church founders, returned to lead the special service. Former Pastor Bo Lange and his wife, Diana, shared two songs, including one in Swedish. Missionary Leola (Anderson) Spyker also shared experiences during her many years of work in Mexico.
The service was followed with a luncheon as well as games for children.
