Journey to Mosaic Moments

TACOMA, WASHINGTON (November 28, 2007) - A variety of experiences is embraced in a Journey to Mosaic as the following photographs illustrate. They were taken by Karina Whitmarsh as part of the North Pacific Conference’s recent journey.

Boys and drums

Young boys learn to master the drums as part of a "drum circle" - a difficult art form that is part of the Yakama Nation's Veteran Powwow. One of the early family photos of the family of Roy and Mary Akada is part of the display during one of the presentations. These two sisters seemed quite interested in the Journey to Mosaic group as they stood not far from a taco stand belong to their uncle in Pasco, Washington, where the group ate.
