Saturday Memorial Service Set for Emory Lindgren
SPRING VALLEY, CA (January 2, 2008) – A memorial service for retired pastor and missionary Emory Lindgren, 92, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bailey Center on the campus of Mount Miguel Covenant Village. Lindgren died Tuesday.
Lindgren was born April 4, 1915 in Paton, Iowa. He married Ruth Bratt on September 6, 1942. He graduated from Augustana College in 1939 and North Park Theological Seminary in 1949.
Lindgren served several churches as a missionary in Alaska between 1942-1947 and 1950-1954, later serving in Medellin, Colombia, from 1973 to 1976. He also served at Bremerton Covenant Church in Bremerton, Washington; Covenant Congregational Church in Providence, Rhode Island; Ravenswood Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois; and Beulah Covenant Church in Turlock, California.
