Gilbreath to Speak at North Park Next Week


CHICAGO, IL (February 15, 2008) - Ed Gilbreath, author of Reconciliation Blues: A Black Evangelical’s Inside View of White Christianity, will speak during two events Wednesday at North Park University and North Park Theological Seminary.

GilbreathGilbreath will speak during a forum in Nyvall Hall from noon to 1:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Hamming Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

He is editorial director for Urban Ministries, a former editor of Today’s Christian magazine, and is an editor-at-large for Christianity Today. Philip Yancey has referred to Gilbreath as a “gentle prophet.” Publisher’s Weekly describes Reconciliation Blues as “a poignant and often humorous look at the state of racial reconciliation within evangelical Christianity.”
