Break the Chains Video Available for Viewing/Download

CHICAGO, IL (February 15, 2007) – The new Break the Chains video is now available for viewing or downloading from the Evangelical Covenant Church website.

ChainsDeveloped by Women Ministries, the new Break the Chains initiative seeks to increase awareness and provide resources to local churches and individuals in the effort to aggressively combat what some are calling modern-day slavery.

It is estimated that some 27 million individuals worldwide are forced to work as sex slaves and domestic servants, even though slavery was officially abolished worldwide in 1927.

The new DVD tells the tragic story – in vivid and at times shocking detail – of the human trafficking trade that generates an estimated $10 billion and ranks third only behind illegal drugs and arms smuggling.

The Break the Chains initiative is designed to provide opportunities for individuals and churches to become personally engaged in the fight against human trafficking. New website content includes numerous resources including suggestions of how people can be involved in tangible ways, highlights of what other ministry organizations are doing, and an extensive section on related scriptures.

There are two versions of the DVD presentation - one five minutes long and the other eight minutes in length. To view the video online, or download either version for later viewing, please visit Break the Chains.
