Services Scheduled for Larry G. Griffin
CALUMET PARK, IL (March 31, 2008) – A funeral service for Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Larry Griffin, 55, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Community Covenant Church. Griffin died Thursday. Any ministers attending the funeral are invited to join the processional at the beginning of the service wearing their robes. Griffin was born November 17, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended North Park Theological Seminary from 1993 to 1997 and was ordained in 1998. Griffin most recently was pastor of Our Savior’s Covenant Church in Chicago. He has been active in various denominational and local ministries including, the Board of Ordered Ministry; the Central Conference Commission on Compassion, Mercy, and Justice; and the board of the North Park Friendship Center food pantry, which is supported by several area Covenant churches. Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Covenant Church Department of Compassion, Mercy, and Justice, in care of Debbie Blue, executive minister, at 5101 N. Francisco, Chicago, 60625.
