Funeral Service Pending for Paul W. Nelson
SPOKANE, WA (April 22, 2008) – Services are pending for retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Paul W. Nelson, 86, who died Monday.
Nelson was born June 16, 1921, in Butte, Montana. He earned an Associate of Arts degree from North Park College in 1948, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Montana in 1950. He graduated from North Park Theological Seminary in 1953.
He served Sierra Covenant Church in Murphys, California, from 1958 to 1960 and the Evangelical Covenant Church in Butte from 1960-1987, when he retired.
“He loved being in the Covenant,” says Greg Luce, pastor of Minnehaha Covenant Church in Spokane. “It was his love and passion. He was a real fixture in this conference.”
