Memorial Service Set for Inez E. Backlund
NORTHBROOK, IL (May 23, 2008) – A memorial service for Inez E. Backlund, 95, will be conducted at 2 p.m. May 29 at Northbrook Covenant Church.
Backlund, the widow of Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Oscar Backlund, died Wednesday.
She was born May 21, 1913, in Lindsborg, Kansas. The couple was married January 9, 1938, in Lindsborg, Kansas. He went on to serve Covenant churches in Washington, D.C.; Rochester, New York; Stamford, Connecticut; Bronx, New York; and Hammond, Indiana. He died in 1987.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth Summers; and a son, Paul Backlund; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
