Memorial Service Conducted for Eunice Johnson
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (May 27, 2008) – A memorial service was conducted Sunday for Eunice (Stromgren) Johnson, 90, widow of Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Philip Johnson. She died Wednesday.
Johnson was born May 20, 1918, in Constance, Minnesota. After graduating from high school, she attended the St. Paul Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she met Philip Johnson. The couple was married on June 9, 1943.
He served Covenant churches in Dale, Minnesota; Wadena and Staples, Minnesota; Fence, Wisconsin; Marinette, Wisconsin; Northport, Michigan; and Stephenson, Michigan (Bethlehem and Lost Lake).
Philip died in 2004. Survivors include two sons: David Johnson and Richard Johnson; three daughters: Jeanne Gembis, Lila Hatch, and Christine Johnson; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
