Former NFLer to Be NPU Viking Offensive Line Coach
CHICAGO, IL (July 15, 2008) – North Park University has hired Marques Sullivan, former lineman with the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, and New England Patriots, as the offensive line coach for the Viking football team.
 Sullivan, a fifth-round draft choice of the Buffalo Bills in 2001, spent three seasons playing in Buffalo (2001-2003) before splitting the 2004 season between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
In 2002, he started all 16 games for the Bills at right guard, a season in which quarterback Drew Bledsoe set 10 team passing records, running back Travis Henry rushed for 1,438 yards, and wide receiver Eric Moulds set a franchise record for receptions with 100.
Sullivan is a Chicago native who attended Fenwick High School and was rated one of the top five linemen in the country. The Chicago Sun-Times and Champaign-Urbana’s The News-Gazette named him to the All-State team, and Parade magazine picked him as a high-school All-American.
He was an anchor of the offensive line at the University of Illinois, where he started 45 consecutive games during his career (1997-2000). He was voted second team All-Big Ten in both 1999 and 2000. The Football Writers Association voted him third team All-America after his senior season. He currently works as the recruiting coordinator for the Retired Professional Football Players of Chicago Dollars for Scholars Organization.
