Funeral Services Set Thursday for Gladys Lawson
CROMWELL, CT (July 21, 2008) – Funeral services will be conducted Thursday for Gladys (Pedersen) Lawson, 83, who died Friday, one day before her birthday.
She was the widow of Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Fred Lawson and the mother of Bruce Lawson, director of camping and special projects for the Department of Christian Formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
A committal service will be conducted at 10 a.m. at the cemetery in East Hartland, Connecticut, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Pilgrim Covenant Church in Granby, Connecticut. A reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dalene’s Pond in East Hartland.
Lawson was born July 19, 1924. She and her husband were married on June 14, 1947. The couple served churches throughout the Midwest and East Coast. Fred Lawson also served as executive director of Covenant Heights Bible Camp in Estes Park, Colorado, and worked at The Children’s Home of Cromwell, Connecticut.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce and Michael Lawson, and a daughter, Nancy Scholl.
