Position Available at National Covenant Properties

CHICAGO, IL (July 22, 2008) – Applications are being accepted for a position as administrative assistant for real estate services in the offices of National Covenant Properties of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

This position, which reports to the two vice presidents for real estate services, provides administrative and clerical support.

Real estate support responsibilities include making initial contacts with sellers and/or agents on property leads, handling certain title work details, coordinating closing documents and requirements, assisting with administrative details related to church closures, and assisting in the preparation of Investment Generation presentations.

The position also provides support for Covenant Development Corporation, the Investment Services Division, and National Covenant Properties staff. For a complete job description, please see Administrative Assistant.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent. Securities Series 63 licensure is required (must be completed within 12 months of hire) as is training on National Covenant Properties accounting systems.

It is essential that the individual is dependable, has good inter-personal relationship skills and the ability to deal well with others and handle a variety of routine tasks and responsibilities in a professional, prompt manner. The person must have excellent organizational skills, initiative and good judgment, accuracy and attention to detail. The individual must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with limited regular face-to-face contact with vice presidents who work in other locations.

The person must be tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English skills required) to effectively communicate with a variety of people and personalities.

The individual must have the ability to plan and carry out multiple and varied responsibilities with limited supervision and direction, and take initiative on routine responsibilities, organize own schedule and duties in order to complete responsibilities. The person must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to take direction from a variety of people. The ability to maintain confidentiality and good judgment is necessary. The person must demonstrate proficiency with or ability to learn Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, Internet and email systems and other applicable software programs.
