BETHANY BENEFITS SERVICEINTRODUCTIONBethany Benefits Service is a Covenant wide program that bills ministers and church workers for insurance premiums and then remits those premiums to the insurance carriers. Health insurance coverage is provided through CoreSource Company and PCS for prescriptions. Group Life Insurance is provided by AIG and long-term disability coverage is provided by U.N.U.M. The need for Bethany Benefits arose because most insurance carriers were not able or willing to write an insurance contract for a group that required almost 700 individual bills to all of the Covenant churches. Bethany did its first billing in July of 1993. The existence of Bethany gives the Covenant a valuable tool when it comes to negotiating insurance rates from existing insurance carriers or when needed. Look for new carriers to provide new or more competitive insurance benefits. ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES
