Faith in Action: Reflections on Covenant Resolutions
This ten-week study guide for congregations, small groups, and student/adult Sunday School classes is now available for free online. Download this booklet below full of easy-to-use study guides and use alongside your Bible and a copy of the Christian Action Commission's Covenant Resolutions booklet (also available online at the Covenant Bookstore). You can also see all of the Covenant Resolutions online by clicking here. Each one-hour lesson incorporates reflection, discussion, mini-lectures, worship, an action challenge, and resources to help participants understand topics around stewardship, sacredness, and biblical reconciliation. Participants will leave with a biblical framework for understanding faith in action, a deeper understanding of how church identity is shaped by resolutions and by our action, and a format for discussing and engaging in various social issues. “I couldn't have asked for a better tool to introduce and facilitate new conversations about justice. The curriculum steered clear of choosing sides and brought down people's defense systems. It took away the ‘political’ conversation and turned each topic into a faith conversation. It's easy to facilitate and uses Scripture well. It made the conversations ‘safe’ for those who are just beginning to have the conversations about compassion and justice.” – Rev. Jodi DeYoung, Evangelical Covenant Church, Ceresco, NE More comments from people who used the series: | “A great entry point for congregations and small groups to discuss compassion and justice.” | | | | | “Creates awareness and better understanding of Covenant viewpoints.” | | | | | “Connects faith to what everybody is talking about around the water cooler.” | | | | | “Gives realistic action steps for participants new to discussions on justice and those who are seasoned in their understanding of social issues.” | | | | | | | | | | | |
