School Supplies for Sudan 2006-2007 War has been going on in South Sudan for 50 years! Millions of people have died and others have had to leave their homes and sometimes even their country. They have to find safety in a refugee camp. Life is hard for the Sudanese people. Children have very little and without school supplies they are unable to attend school. The 2006-2007 Children’s Service Project “School Supplies for Sudan” enabled children in North America to help the children of Sudan. The over $19,000 they gave will equip Sudanese children with school supplies and books. Many will be able to attend school for the first time.
Your offerings have made a difference in the lives of these children in Sudan.
School Supplies for Congo 2005-2006
Imagine a place where Covenant children no longer have schools and must
build them on their own. Now imagine those schools with no supplies. No
chalk, no pencils, no paper, no books. This is what life was like for
Covenant children in Congo.
In
2002 we launched the Children’s Service Project, “School Supplies for
Congo Kids”. The offerings from children across the Covenant brought
school supplies, books, and supplies to build new schools to the
children of the Congo. This helped to double the number of children who
could now attend school. However three years later in 2005, the need
was still great. So, once again we chose “School Supplies for Congo” as
our focus for the 2005-2006 project.
Thanks to the children and churches who gave so generously we
were able to raise $21,424 and put it towards school supplies for
children in the Congo. Now more children can go to school and they have
the necessary supplies to make that school experience a valuable one.
Together we can make a difference!!
CRENN 2003-2004
Imagine a place where poverty is so profound that children are forced
to live on the streets where they are daily exposed to drugs,
alcoholism and child abuse. Recent studies conducted in the Canta Claro
neighborhood of Montería, Colombia, show that this is the largest
neighborhood of this type in the country. In 1996, with the financial
support provided by the Colombian Social Welfare Government Agency,
World Vision, the Colombia Covenant Mission and the Montería Covenant
churches, the CRENN project (Translated from Spanish - The Center for
Strengthening Education and Nutrition in the Child) was established to
help the children in this neighborhood.

By offering food, education and
recreation to the children, and by working to preserve and strengthen
the family, the CRENN Project has been established to improve their
living conditions and educational opportunities.Your offerings of
$23,127 provided the following: a new roof, painting and maintenance of
the building, new bathrooms, new gas lines, and teaching materials. One
child writes: "Dear Friends, Thank you for the love offering which has
been a huge blessing for us. As you pray for us, we are praying for
you. Thanks once again for everything. Love, Lizeth Barrientos"
