Former Superintendent in Serious Bicycle Accident

FORT MYERS, FL (March 23, 2006) - Former Northwest Conference Superintendent Paul Erickson sustained a severe head injury Wednesday, when he was struck by a van while bicycling.

Erickson, 66, was vacationing on Sanibel Island, Florida, with his wife, Joan, when the accident occurred. A spokesperson for the Northwest Conference says his condition is very serious but appears to be stabilizing. He is being treated at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.

Erickson was superintendent from 1995 to 2003. He was ordained in 1968 and has pastored churches primarily in the West and Midwest.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
