Relational Ministry Essentials for Volunteers & Interns (Vail)
Description: In a time with a million voices and a million apps, what is it about being a Christian leader that makes us different and therefore able to make a difference in the lives of adolescents? How can we
best come alongside young people during this fast-paced, technology-saturated culture? In this workshop we will explore and expand upon the basic, yet essential, core aspects of relational ministry as presented in Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s book Life Together.

Entering into the Dialogue (Savoy)
Together we’ll explore how to have substantive dialogue around the phrase “black lives matter” and the events which birthed this phrase. Our time will revolve around discussing three guiding questions: 1) Why this matters for the church?; 2) Why it matters for youth ministry?; 3) Why ‘not addressing’ it isn’t being neutral, but harmful?

Between God & Kanye: Youth Ministry in a Post-Civil Rights Era (Savoy)
This time will be spent exploring the rapid changes occurring in youth ministry and how the urban is now an ever presence regardless of where you are. We will also examine the implications of race in a time of what’s being called a “Post Racial” society to become better ministers in a changing societal climate.

Embracing the Losing End of the Culture War: Leveraging the Church’s Spiritual Strength Instead of Its Political Power. (Majestic Ballroom)
Over the past 50 years our culture has gone under some dramatic cultural shifts. The church has been a positive voice, a political force, and the butt of many jokes. In our time together we will look at how we got here, how not to repeat the same mistakes of the past, and leverage our unique call as the church to be light to a dark world. #candelsarebetterthanspotlights
