Which Permanent Credential is Right for You?

Ask yourself what is your final credentialing goal?

• Teaching, preaching, administering the sacraments as a senior or solo pastor with an M. Div. Degree: Ordained to Word and Sacrament
• Contributing to the whole church in an area of specialization (such as worship or education) as a staff minister with a master’s degree in your area of specialization: Ordained to Specialized Ministry
• Focusing on ministry in an area of specialization as a staff minister with a bachelor’s degree: Commissioned Staff Minister
• Career missions work: Consecrated Missionary
• Part-time (less than 20 hours per week) work in an approved Christian ministry, or full-time, but primary source of income from elsewhere: Bi-Vocational Ministry License
