Short-term mission opportunities (2-3 years) exist in the Central African Republic in agriculture for those interested in veterinarian ministries.
We’re looking for trained veterinarian to work with the Fulani to help them diagnose and treat their large animals (cattle, sheep, and goats) as well as be involved in pasture improvement. The Center for Experimentation and Formation in Agriculture (CEFA) is a large ag program that has a 1000 acre farm for doing research with crops, livestock, and preservation of the environment. The goal is to train small farmers in improved farming and ranching techniques but to do it in a way that transforms communities in more holistic ways. Qualifications for this opportunity would include some sort of an agricultural degree that pertains to tropical farming or previous experience in overseas development work. ECHO grads are highly regarded. Local language study is required and will be incorporated into the beginning of a missionary’s term of service.
