The Center for Church Enablement (CCENT) took out a bank loan to purchase an additional seven acres of land to expand its fish hatchery production in 2006. The hatchery has been making monthly payments on the loan, but the interest rate has risen from the original 6% to 9%. In addition, may fish farms and hatcheries are currently struggling from various factors: poor economy, increased price of many of the raw materials, higher fuel costs, and to top that off a new disease problem arose in 2008. Help pay off the loan and put the fish hatchery on a more solid financial base so that they can continue reaching out to their community through jobs, good nutrition, and Christ. Continue Reading »
Abundant Life Center (ALC) has identified opportunities for mission teams of two to four people. Small teams may assist in local community Children’s Summer Programs (October and March) with primary and secondary-aged school kids. This program includes English teaching activities.
The Sustainable Development Research Foundation has an English proficiency prep school called EXCEL in Bangkok that helps high school students to prepare for and pass the SAT exam as well as improve their English skills. There is a summer “bootcamp” from June 21 through July 31. Qualified teachers are needed for the camp.
The Covenant Church in Thailand is working two camp properties, one near the Chiang Mai Aquatic Development Farm, the other near the Fish Farm in Roi Et. Land in both locations is being developed to accommodate camping programs and provide a ministry space for the Thai churches to use for outreach events. Mission teams are invited to help with building projects, working alongside Thai brothers and sisters. There is also opportunity to be involved in sports ministry as the church seeks creative outreach venues.
