CWR, Conference Partner to Help Storm Victims

CHICAGO, IL (November 2, 2012) – Covenant World Relief (CWR) and the East Coast Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church will work together to provide relief to survivors of Hurricane Sandy, it was announced today.

“This will enable a rapid and informed response to funding relief and recovery projects underway in partnership with Covenant and other Christian churches in the affected communities,” said Howard Burgoyne, conference superintendent.

David Husby, CWR director, noted that pastors already have expressed a need to provide assistance to low-income neighbors who have been forced to miss work due to the storm.

Churches in the affected areas who need assistance to extend help in their community can contact the East Coast Conference office for information on applying for a CWR relief/recovery grant.

Churches and individuals who wish to contribute can do so either through Covenant World Relief or through the East Coast Conference. Click here to donate online.
