North Park Theological Seminary prepares students to serve the Christian church as men and women who proclaim and live the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is an education for the head, heart and hands. Students are prepared for a broad range of roles in vocational ministry, including lead pastor, associate pastor, youth ministry, and staff ministry specialists. Christian formation is a focus of the life off the community, in which personal and professional growth lead to a life and ministry of integrity. Degrees are preparatory to credentialing in the Evangelical Covenant Church.

The educational philosophy of North Park relates the great commission of Jesus (the evangelical mandate) to the great commandment of Jesus (the ethical mandate) along with a commitment to care of creation (the cultural mandate). Scholarship informs and is informed by practical experience in a leadership developing community.

Reflecting the values, priorities and demographics of the Evangelical Covenant Church, North Park Theological Seminary welcomes men and women in approximately equal numbers as students, and racial, ethnic and socio-economic diversity increasingly characterizes both the student body and faculty.

Degrees include a DMin (offered jointly with five other seminaries), the MDiv, MACF, MATS, MACM, the possibility of dual degrees with North Park’s School of Business and Nonprofit Management. In addition, numerous certificates and special programs are also available. The seminary also offers courses in conjunction with the Covenant External Orientation Program of the Covenant church
