Develop a Deborah (Palm 2D)

Brian Wiele, Abby Jones

In ancient days, God raised up Deborah to be a leader, prophet, and military commander. Could there be a gifted woman in your ministry setting today whose giftedness you can affirm and encourage? We will briefly outline the biblical view that gender is not an issue in the distribution of spiritual gifts, and explore ways to disciple gifted women and direct them into positions of leadership.

Covenant Community Bible Experience: A Fresh Way to Read the Bible as “People of the Book” (Palm 2AB)

Michelle Sanchez, Jim Steere

Make and Deepen Disciples is offering an exciting opportunity to Covenant churches to join Covenant Community Bible Experience in the coming months!  The Bible has been central in the life of the Evangelical Covenant Church from its beginning.  We are “People of the Book” and have long embraced the reality that reading the Bible well is foundational to a vital relationship with Christ, yet Bible engagement has been dropping dramatically among Christians for the past few decades. Based on more than a decade of research, Biblica has introduced an initiative called Community Bible Experience which invites whole congregations into a fresh new way of reading the Bible together.  The Covenant’s Make and Deepen Disciples has tailored Covenant Community Bible Experience to better serve the needs of Covenant churches across the country.  This session will help you learn how your congregation will benefit from this exciting opportunity to revitalize your church’s experience with the Bible and how you can help bring it to your church, your family, and your friends.
