Board of Women Ministries
The Leadership Team of Women Ministries, representing the diversity of the Covenant ethnically and geographically, as well as both lay and clergy, is comprised of twelve members elected by delegates to the Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church, and conference leaders as advisors. In addition, the president of the Covenant Church, the executive minister of Women Ministries and a liaison from the Covenant Executive Board serve as ex-officio members. The elected members serve for a five-year term. The Executive Committee of the Leadership Team is determined from among the elected members.
Board members set policy, provide coherence, develop resources for women’s ministries in Covenant churches (at home and abroad), and promote avenues for women’s involvement in the mission of the Covenant. Members are asked to have a special area of responsibility within the board’s goals and to be active in conference and denominational Women Ministries’ events.
Meagan Gillan
Meagan serves as executive minister of Women Ministries. She was elected in June 2011. “I’m humbled and thrilled to be called to serve the marvelous, multi-cultural, multi-generational mosaic that is the women of our denomination,” Gillan said in accepting the nomination. “I am counting on women to step up, speak up and speak into the next chapter of our vital ministry together. As we build on the incredible foundation of the past, we will seek God together for the exciting new things he wants to do. I cherish your prayers as I ramp up to this awesome responsibility.”
