GlobalSince its beginning in 1916, Women Ministries has engaged global ministry. Today women of the Covenant faithfully support efforts to advance God’s kingdom around the world as well as those called to serve internationally.
Women Ministries continues to sponsor the following historical ministries:
Cross-Cultural Opportunities
In addition Women Ministries, in partnership with World Mission’s
Covenant Mission Connection, sponsors Cross Cultural Opportunities. The
purpose of these trips is to provide women an opportunity to use their
unique gifts in a cross cultural ministry while connecting with team
members from across the denomination. Trips are planned to Japan in 2008 and China in 2009. Annual ProjectsThe most significant engagement in global ministry is through various annual projects. The Leadership Team determines a ministry focus each year, typically alternating between domestic and international projects. Since the 1970s, international projects have included: • an intensive program improving the life style of Congolese women; • a seminary dormitory in Japan; church planting in Colombia and Taiwan; • women ministries in Oaxaca, Mexico; • housing for homeless girls in Medellin, Colombia; • Bibles for young orphans and life skills training for orphanage graduates in Russia; • outreach ministries in Laos and Thailand; • four visions in four African countries; and • education for Congolese young women.
